Reprint of a classic work originally published in 1952.This is a facsimile reprint. Each page is printed as a high resolution picture of the original page and has been manually processed to remove background noise and ensure the best clarity of text and illustrations possible depending on the condition of the original used. Processing the pages as pictures is more expensive and takes longer than automated computer Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software that is used for less expensive reprints; however there is no danger of changing the spelling of words or the formatting of text so the book can be used and quoted from for research as if it were an original copy. With detailed genealogical and historical research a misspelled name or location could easily result in weeks, or even years, of wasted research chasing false leads. It is important to be able to cite your research so it can be verified later and to verify the citations in other people's research before relying on them as evidence and a facsimile version is the only way to ensure that the same information will be found on the exact same page in the reprint as in the original.
